What are the Requirements to Become a Physical Therapist in Alaska?

Yes, Alaska is a member state of the Physical Therapy Compact (PT Compact). The PT Compact is an agreement between member states to improve access to physical therapy services for the public by increasing the mobility of physical therapists across state lines. With the PT Compact, licensed physical therapists in Alaska can practice in other member states without having to obtain additional licenses.
The State Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Board adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 54 of the Alaska Administrative Code on June 3, 2022, that allowed for Alaska's participation in the PT Compact. This was followed by Senate Bill 74 which was passed on July 1, 2022, officially making Alaska a part of the PT Compact.
